Salmon and Murder Rate; Pam Schoenfeld on The Nutrional Value of Traditional Diets

Does poor diet lead to violent behaviour? The Guys review a recent article from the New York Times which reviews a study done in a British Prison. "Bernard Gesch, a senior research scientist at Oxford University, set out to show that better nutrition does, in fact, decrease violence. He enrolled 231 volunteers at a British prison in his study; one-half received a placebo, while the other half received fatty acids and other supplements. Over time, the antisocial behavior (as measured by assaults and other violations) of the inmates who had been given the supplements dropped by more than a third relative to their previous records." Truly food for thought!

Pam Schoenfeld is a nutritionist who teaches individuals how to return to eating traditional, natural foods. She joins The Guys to talk about the nutritional Value of Traditional Diets that include such items as butter, lard, pasture-raised pigs and raw milk. In an research paper entitled "The Oiling of America", Mary Enig, PhD, and Sally Fallon of the Weston A. Price foundation review studies which examine the rise in coronary disease and conclude that "Americans should eat the traditional foods that nourished their ancestors, including meat, eggs, butter and cheese, and avoid the newfangled vegetable-oil-based foods that were flooding the grocers' shelves".
