Senior Researcher, World Watch Institute

Mark and Francis welcome Brian Halweil of the World Watch Institute to the show. Brian is a Senior researcher for the organization specializing in Food, Agriculture, Organic Farming, Biotechnology and Coffee. He recently authored "Eat Here" which talks about the benefits of supporting local farms and eating local products. Is it really cheaper to have all of our food imported from other countries? Is that something we really want to do - depend on foreign sources for our food (not unlike our oil)?
